Who Plays Princess Peach: Anya Taylor-Joy, The Queen’s Gambit star, has spoken about her favorite part of preparing to play Princess Peach in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie.

In September, it was announced that Chris Pratt of Marvel would play Mario, and Charlie Day, of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, would play Luigi in the upcoming Nintendo game spinoff.

Taylor Joy spoke with ET about adjusting to her new role as Princess Peach from Nintendo.

She exclaimed, “Oh, it is so much fun.” “We have begun implementing it in small ways. The best part is that I can justify my gaming time by saying that I am studying, working, or researching.”

In other words, “I have to!” The insistence came from Anya. “Because of the rabid following, I have no choice but to participate. How entertaining!”

The actress will co-star with Keegan-Michael Key (Toad) from The Prom and Seth Rogen (Donkey Kong) from Kung Fu Panda, as well as Jack Black (supervillain Bowser) from Jumanji.

The original voice actor for Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi, Charles Martinet, will also appear in the upcoming animated film adaptation.
