Will There Be A Marvel Studios Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3?

Marvel Studios Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3: Though the third Guardians of the Galaxy film isn’t due out until May of 2018, we’ll be seeing our unlikely heroes again sooner than that.

The Guardians will be back on Disney+ on November 25 for a holiday special that will take place on Earth and may or may not include a long-dead character.

Although the Holiday Special is a “standalone story,” it will fill in some gaps in the timeline, as confirmed by James Gunn (now DC boss alongside Peter Safran). However, it is unclear how heavily hints at the third film will be included.

Though it hasn’t yet made its way online, the third film’s trailer was unveiled to Comic-Con attendees, along with confirmations of some exciting new characters.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Release Date

Finally, Marvel has confirmed that the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be May 5, 2023.

On November 25, Disney+ will release a holiday special introducing “one of the greatest MCU characters of all time,” as previously mentioned. (We get the impression Gunn hinted at Kevin Bacon’s appearance in the trailer.)

Its events occur between Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians 3, and it was shot at the same time as the third film.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Cast: Who’s Back In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3?

Chris Pratt will reprise his role as Star-Lord, and other returning cast members include Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. In addition, Zoe Saldana will reprise her role as Gamora following the events of Avengers: Endgame.

While Saldana has stated that she wants to “explore a bad Gamora” in the third Guardians film, the teaser trailers have presented the character as cold and uncaring rather than evil. She’s also been dropping hints about the plot of the third installment, and it sounds like we’ll need tissues.

“There’s a lot of sadness, but there’s also pride in what we’ve accomplished. James Gunn has written a beautiful story that’s making us emotional even as we shoot it,” she noted.

In October of 2022, she called it a “delightful departure,” which we can only assume to be positive. Since we last saw her, “new” Gamora has joined the Ravagers, as shown in the Comic-Con trailer.

Yondu’s old friend and fellow Ravager Kraglin are back, played by Sean Gunn, and Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha could make a comeback, too.

“I’d enjoy it, even if it’s just to scooch on for a little while. To clarify, I would very much like to return “her words She appeared with Adam Warlock (more on him in a moment) in the previous film, but she doesn’t seem to be here.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Plot

Gunn has promised that the third film will serve as the “epic conclusion” to the story he started in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, though details about the film’s plot remain under wraps for the time being.

A sense of closure for this team iteration on screen can be felt in the footage shown at Comic-Con, suggesting that the movie will succeed. Could it be Chris Pratt’s final outing as Star-Lord? He’s not yet ruling out an MCU return.

Thor: Love and Thunder provided us with an idea of what the Guardians will be up to next.

After receiving distress signals from all over the galaxy, the Guardians and Thor decided to intervene because Gorr, the God Butcher, was… butchering gods. Star-Lord suggests that they go their separate ways so that they can do their best as they travel the galaxy.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Trailer: Any Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 Footage Yet?

Sorry, but the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 trailer debuted at Comic-Con in July 2022 and has yet to make its way online since November 2022.

The first trailer for a Marvel film is usually released four months before the film’s release date, which would put us in January 2023. Waiting until February 2023 is possible if they want to remove it alongside Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania.
