Hugh Jackman Reveals The Marvel Movie That Inspired Wolverine Returns:  Hugh Jackman has added fuel to the rumors that he will reprise his role as Wolverine in the MCU.
Two years after seemingly saying goodbye to the character in the blockbuster film “Logan,” fans of the clawed X-Men character have been abuzz on social media about the actor’s possible return.

Jackman sparked speculation about his return to an upcoming Marvel film by posting two intriguing images to his Instagram Stories.

The actor posted a picture of himself with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige alongside fan art depicting Wolverine by BossLogic on his Instagram Stories.

As a result of its acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Disney now has the rights to produce films in the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four franchises.

Fantastic Four has been confirmed for Marvel’s Phase 4 release schedule, but the re-emergence of the X-Men has been left out of the conversation. Several news outlets reported that Jackman had dropped hints about playing Wolverine again, this time in an Avengers film.

My mental image of Wolverine in an Avengers film always included him standing in the middle of the group and punching everyone in the face. According to JustJared.com, he said at the time, “Oh well, that’s not going to happen.”

The actor continued by saying that he was excited to see a new actor take on the role of the Wolverine, despite his belief that his chance of starring in an MCU film was long gone.
If the actor decides to reprise his role as the clawed mutant, it will set a new record for the longest career of any live-action Marvel superhero.

Hugh’s 16 years and 228 days as Wolverine are tied for the longest by himself and Sir Patrick Stewart, who has played Professor Charles Xavier for the same length of time.
