Nier: Automata will be made into an anime, and seven months after it was first announced in February, there are now two new teaser trailers and release date.
On Saturday, both trailers were shown for the first time at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 Livestream. 2B and 9S are two of the main characters in Nier: Automata. They are androids who fight for humanity as soldiers in the elite military force YoRHa against an invasion of alien robots.

Both trailers show that Yui Ishikawa and Natsuki Hanae, who did the voices for 2B and 9S in the 2017 game, will be back to play the same characters in the anime.
A-1 Pictures, the company behind Sword Art Online, Kaguya-same: Love is War, and Lycoris Recoil, will produce the series, and Ryouji Masuyama, director of Blend S, Gurren Lagann Parallel Works, and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, will helm the show.
Yoko Taro, the director of Nier: Automata, said in a conversation with Masuyama that the anime adaptation of the game, titled Nier: Automata Ver. 1.1a will have significant revisions and divergences from the game’s original storyline. “The anime title includes the prefix ‘Ver 1.1a’ since Nier: Automata was a story we made for a game, so reproducing it as is wouldn’t make an engaging story for an anime,” Taro explained in a behind-the-scenes video. “So I suggested that we switch things around.”

The sci-fi action RPG Nier: Automata, released in 2017, stole the hearts of fans worldwide for its fast-paced fighting system, branching philosophical plot, and numerous fourth wall-breaking changes in the story and game mechanics.
Nier Reincarnation, a mobile game spinoff sequel set in a weird infinite tower known as the Cage, and Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, a remake of the original 2010 game Nier, were both released in response to the commercial and critical success of Nier: Automata.
Nier: Automata Ver. 1.1a is set to release in January 2023.
