The CEO of network ASTORY Lee Sang-baek recently spoke to South Korean media outlets (via NME’s reporting and Soompi’s translation) and revealed exciting plans for Woo and her charmingly addicting world.
With the help of many, Season 2 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo will be made, Lee has announced. A second season is planned for broadcast in 2024.
Despite the obviously positive ground it is currently on, it is not yet officially happening.
The South Korean broadcaster ENA has stated that there have been discussions regarding a second season of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet. A release in 2024 seems realistic if this ends up happening.

This is especially good news for the film’s lead actress, Park Eun-bin, who has stated that she was caught off guard by the film’s overwhelmingly positive reception.
The actress told ET News, “While it’s true that I put a lot of effort into the drama, I left the popularity up to the viewers after the broadcasts and didn’t have expectations” (via Soompi).
“The explosive reaction right after the broadcasts caught me off guard, and I have to admit that it scared me a little. For what it’s worth, I feel like my life is essentially unchanged, except that I get more requests for my autograph.”
Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 Plot: What Will Happen?
Screenwriter Moon Ji-won is on board to write a potential second season, according to The Korea Herald, which quotes CEO Lee Sang-baek. If that’s the case, Ji-won has a lot of challenges ahead of her.
Actor Kang Tae-oh, who plays Young-fiance woo’s Lee Jun-ho, is preparing to enlist in the military. All physically capable Korean men must enlist by the age of 28, so future episodes may have to accommodate a significant absence for this central character.
Then there’s the debate about how the show depicts autistic characters. Some members of the autistic community have praised the show for its portrayal, while others have claimed that it misrepresents what it’s like to be on the spectrum.
Park Eun-bin, who plays the lead, thought carefully about this before accepting the role. Actually, Park said no to the part several times before finally accepting it.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, she disclosed: “I knew that the media would have an impact because this was a drama. I strove to avoid offending people who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
“To do this work without bringing any preconceived notions or biases into it was a major concern of mine. Actually, that was a major worry of mine, “Her words carried on. “I felt a heavy burden of responsibility because this drama and its themes affect and matter to so many people. The last thing I wanted to do was cause anyone distress or offence.”
A later interview with ET News (via Soompi) included the following statement from her: “To emphasise Woo Young-woo’s singularity, I felt it was my moral obligation to avoid using real autistic people as a reference and to avoid excluding references whenever possible.
