American actor Nick Gehlfuss plays Dr. Will Halstead, a notable plastic neurosurgeon who originally appeared on the show as the supervisory visiting physician in the emergency room. Dr. Will Halstead is the younger brother of Chicago P.D.’s fictional Inspector Jay Halstead.

Yaya DaCosta, a famous American actress and model, plays April Sexton, a nurse at the hospital’s emergency room who is the first generation of her family to come to the United States from Brazil. April’s younger brother Noah is also a clinical student, this time in the third year. Moreover, Chicago Fire Academy Lieutenant Kelly Severide remembers her as a childhood friend. In season 6, she applied to become a nurse specialist and was granted the position so she could better care for her patients.

Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 8 Recap
Goodwin introduces Dr. Justin Leo to the Chicago Med staff as the “latest member of emergency medicine” in the premiere of season 8, episode 1. Justin, a first-year permanent employee, has extensive experience in search and rescue operations dating back ten years.
Our first crossover occurs when Chicago Fire player Blake Gallo pays Justin a surprise visit. Gallo relates to Justin that on the first day, he had planned to drop by to say hello whenever he was in the neighborhood. After Justin saves a life, he and Blake give each other a friendly fist bump to show that they are both competent doctors. The arrival of a new patient forces the best friends apart, but Justin will become an important new protagonist in future episodes.
The doctors at Gaffney Medical, Hannah Asher and Nellie Cuevas, were already dealing with a very serious situation when a young woman named Gloria arrived there drunk from a warehouse party. Since the woman is convinced that she has been assaulted, Hannah and Nellie work together to assemble a rape kit for her. Gloria becomes very wary and concerned about the process being documented and potential medical expenses. Nellie and Hannah do their best to calm Gloria’s fears, but it’s clear that there’s still something between them.
