Where Was Matilda The Musical Filmed?
The new Matilda the Musical has been filmed in six different locations, most of them are in England. Since the narrative was written and first published in the UK, it only makes sense that the majority of the action takes place there as well. The fact that the majority of the actors is also British helps to further establish the film’s credibility.
Shepperton Pinewood Studio in Shepperton, Surrey, United Kingdom, was used to film the majority of the movie’s indoor settings. The movie features numerous wonderful sequences and scenes involving magic, fantasy, and special effects, and the Shepperton Studio was ideal for creating these worlds.

The exterior of Crunchem Hall was filmed at Bramshill House in the English county of Hampshire. Some photographs from the set and the trailer reveal that the entire Bramshill Estate was utilised. These include shots of the school’s gates.
Bison Hill Car Park, located in the English town of Dunstable, also played a significant role in Matilda the Musical. The film’s whole windmill sequence was shot there, in a setting as beautiful as any other. The Whipsnade Zoo in Dunstable, England, where additional sequences were filmed, was also named as a location.

The above-linked teaser was released on October 13, 2022. Strangely, the film debuted in a few United Kingdom and Irish theatres on November 25, 2022. Matilda the Musical will debut in select theatres around the world on December 9, 2022, and on Netflix around the world on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022.

We’ve already established that Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin penned the bulk of the screenplay for the film adaptation of the enormously successful musical that has been performing on Broadway for decades. Tim Minchin also penned the film’s original music and lyrics, while Matthew Warchus helmed it.
Alisha Weird, a young and skilled actress, will play Matilda Wormwood, while Emma Thompson will portray Matilda’s principal “nemesis,” Ms. Agatha Trunchbull. In an interesting turn of events, actor Ralph Fiennes was at first considered for the role of Trunchbull before being replaced by Thompson.
