1. Luffy VS Katakuri In One Piece (22 Episodes)
In the 850th episode of One Piece, Luffy intervenes in a dispute between Katakuri and Nami. As Luffy and Katakuri fight, the latter quickly gains the upper hand, and in the meantime, a number of other events take place involving other characters. Until Luffy learns out how to defeat Katakuri and activates Gear Four, Katakuri will maintain his advantage over him.
Sadly, Luffy’s moment in the spotlight is short-lived, as Katakuri quickly regains his composure and the effects of Gear Four wear off. So, Luffy uses Brûlée to flee from Mirro-World and buys himself some time to heal. Luffy recovers and continues fighting Katakuri between episodes 858 and 861, despite encountering new enemies. In episode 871, the fight between Luffy and Katakuri is finally resolved after he uses a new strategy to defeat Katakuri, despite some initial difficulty due to interference from Katakuri’s sister.
2. Goku VS Frieza In Dragon Ball Z (19 Episodes)
In episode 87 of Dragon Ball Z, Goku faces off against Frieza in one of the series’ most pivotal fights. Both sides are putting up all their effort in the hope that theirs will be the successful one. Frieza feels confident that Goku is about to submit because he is in the ascendant. But in reality, Goku is ready to play his ace in the hole.
During the time when Goku is charging the Spirit Bomb, Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin are holding off Frieza by transferring their energy to him. When Goku finishes his attack, he and his allies are certain that Frieza is dead. Unfortunately, Frieza survives and continues his nasty ways, increasing Goku’s rage to the point where he transforms into Super Saiyan. Even though Namek is about to be destroyed and Frieza is fighting for his life, Goku is still the victor. The 105th episode brings an end to the battle after everything that has happened.
3. Luffy VS Doflamingo In One Piece (13 Episodes)
During the events of episode 721 of One Piece, Luffy formally begins to prepare for his prolonged war against Doflamingo. Luffy and Law face off against Doflamingo and Trebol in a tag team bout at beginning. However, as Trebol is defeated, Luffy and Law make their way to safety, with Doflamingo hot on their heels.
Luffy abandons Law to Robin and the rest of the crew and continues his battle with Doflamingo. While other things are happening, Luffy deploys Gear Four against Doflamingo, which significantly ramps up the intensity of the fight. Even though Gear Four gives Luffy a temporary advantage, he loses his edge after 10 minutes. During these 10 minutes, Gatz, the gladiators, and others help Luffy dodge and fight Doflamingo across three episodes. At the end of episode 733, Luffy gets back on his feet and deals the killing blow, securing his win.
4. Gohan VS Cell in Dragon Ball Z (11 Episodes)
In Dragon Ball Z’s Cell Games Saga, Gohan faces off against Cell for the first time in a combat that will span eleven episodes. One of the most iconic moments of the series is kicked off right here at the start of this fight.
Gohan thinks it’s pointless to fight, so he urges Cell to stop, but Cell refuses and threatens Earth, so Gohan has no choice but to fight. Cell, who has always wanted Gohan to reach his full potential, pushes Gohan to his breaking point, at which point Gohan becomes Super Saiyan 2. Cell’s desperation grows, and he makes a futile sacrifice. Goku and his son, Gohan, team up with the other Z fighters and use their special father-son bond to destroy Cell. Attacks commence in Episode 181, and the conflict is resolved in Episode 191.
5. Tsuna VS Xanxus in REBORN! (9 Episodes)
Tsunayoshi (Tsuna) and Xanxus compete in REBORNfinal !’s bout of the Vongola Ring Conflict, the Sky Ring Battle, for the title Vongola Decimo. As the conflict progresses, the odds between Tsuna and Xanxus shift, while other events take place behind the scenes.
Xanxus gets the Vongola Rings with the help of the other Varia members. Xanxus, however, is rejected by the rings, leading him to become enraged and vow death upon his enemies. Ultimately, Xanxus and the other Varia members are the ones who meet their end. The conclusion of the Sky Ring Battle sees Tsuna formally become the Vongola Decimo’s heir. This conflict spans nine episodes, from number 57 all the way up to number 65.
6. Yusuke VS Sensui In Yu Yu Hakusho (9 Episodes)
The battle between Yusuke and Sensui is the longest in Yu Yu Hakusho. Sensui appears and quickly defeats Yusuke and his allies. When Kuwabara is abducted, Yusuke and the others eventually make it to Sensui’s lair in an effort to rescue him.
After everyone else is taken to another dimension, the final battle begins, and Yusuke faces off against Sensui all by himself. Yusuke’s loss and the subsequent developments in the fight alter the dynamics of the conflict. Then, curiously enough, with the help of his companions and Yusuke’s rebirth in a new form, the tables flip again, and Sensui is ultimately defeated. Nine episodes are devoted to the battle, or eight if you discount the time Yusuke was incapacitated.
7. Naruto VS Pain In Naruto: Shippuden (7 Episodes)
When Naruto shows up in Sage Mode to face Pain in episode 163 of Naruto: Shippuden, the decisive battle of the Pain’s Assault arc begins. Two shinobi, both of whom want to see an end to hostilities, but who do so in very different ways, face off against one another.
During the course of the battle, several secrets are revealed, and Naruto even appears to be vanquished. Assuming Naruto discovers where Nagato really is, the battle will be considered won. After their fistfight in episode 169, Naruto and Pain finally meet and Naruto listens to Pain’s narrative. As a result, one of the most memorable battles in the series spans seven episodes.
8. Ichigo VS Ulquiorra In Bleach (7 Episodes)
Despite having battled once previously, Ichigo and Ulquiorra don’t have their last showdown until episode 266 of Bleach. Swords strike relentlessly, and the battle escalates as both sides unleash new styles.
As the battle progresses, Ichigo’s luck runs out once Ulquiorra reveals his actual form and causes him to be overpowered. On the other hand, in response to Orihime’s distress call, Ichigo transforms into a new Hollow Form. This comes as a shock to Ulquiorra, and the two of them continue to battle until one of them emerges triumphant. Ulquiorra sees his impending defeat now that he has seen Ichigo in his new form and orders Ichigo to deliver the killing blow. After seven instalments, the conflict is resolved.
9. King Of The Chimera Ants VS Netero In Hunter X Hunter (5 Episodes)
The battle between Meruem and Netero is a highlight of Hunter × Hunter. The Chimera Ant Arc’s main story point is established in the first episode of the arc, which features the beginning of the titular battle.
Before being enticed by Netero’s name, Meruem had no intention of fighting him. They struck a bet in which Netero would provide the knowledge to Meruem if he conceded defeat. After two episodes of preparing for Nen and introducing new characters, the battle between Meruem and Netero concludes.
10. The Survey Corps VS The Titans In Attack On Titan (4 Episodes)
In season three of Attack on Titan, the Survey Corps travels back to Shiganshina in an effort to reclaim the lost area by having Eren repair the breach in Wall Maria. They returned to find foes waiting for them, and they were unprepared.
Eren arrives in Shiganshina and successfully plugs the wall, but there is a palpable sense of unease in the town. Armin says they have adversaries among them. Fighting heats up when the Armored, Colossal, and Beast Titans show up. In the subsequent four episodes, the fight comes to a close after several intense incidents, with losses on both sides.
