With Keanu Reeves in the lead role, “John Wick” has become one of the most successful film series of the last decade. After “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” grossed $56 million in its opening weekend in 2019, fans had to wait a bit for a new instalment to be released because of the success of franchise creator Derek Kolstad’s universe. Opening weekend sales of the original films in 2014 and 2017 added up to less than that.

More than $573 million has been made from the three films combined at the worldwide box office, which is a huge success for an original action franchise pitted against those that use comic books to attract audiences.

More sequels are made in Hollywood when the first one does well at the box office. There will be a “John Wick 4” and “John Wick 5”; production on the latter began in earnest in 2018, and the fourth film is scheduled for release on March 24, 2023 (after several COVID-related delays).

This chapter is the first of a two-part conclusion for Wick. The franchise’s success spawned a number of related projects, including the March 2023 release of “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas, and the March 2023 publication of “The Continental,” a Peacock prequel series about the hotel for mercenaries. The 1975-set series, which also stars Mel Gibson, Ayomide Adegun, and Peter Greene, will have Colin Woodell in the role of hotel manager Winston, previously played by Ian McShane.

Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward, who worked together on “Ride Along,” will serve as writers and showrunners for both “The Expendables” prequel series. Charlotte Brandstrom (“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”) and Albert Hughes (“Menace II Society,” “The Book of Eli”) each direct two episodes.

In regards to the next film “John Wick Chapter 4,” many details, such as the premise or even the new characters, are still unknown. We have to wait until next year to watch Keanu Reeves out for revenge, but in the meantime, IndieWire has prepared a list of important information regarding the next film in the popular action series.

Director Chad Stahelski of “John Wick: Chapter 4” has stated that the next instalment will explore the “mythology” of the Continental and the assassin underground realm. Stahelski told Variety, “I don’t believe — at least for the ‘John Wick movies, in a three-act format.” I’m a big fan of tales and closing the book. When we think of the hero of the Odyssey, our mind immediately goes to John Wick as Odysseus. The tale is important, therefore we take all the time we need to tell it.

As a result, we’ll need to break the book up into several sections. The director warned fans that the fourth film would be the longest in the series thus far, saying, “As long as we don’t fall asleep watching it, we keep it going.” However, I suppose there is a restroom quota.

After the fifth film in the “John Wick” series is released, director Chad Stahleski told fans that John Wick will not “ride off into the fucking sunset.”

John may make it through this ordeal, but the outcome is grim. Stahelski told IndieWire that Reeves’ journey may end because “he’s got nowhere to go.” Truthfully, I’m going to confront you right now by asking: How do you want me to f*cking kill you? Is he going to get on his horse and disappear into the horizon, or what?

What, he’s going to [walk away] after killing 300 fuckwits and everything will be fine? Just like that, he’s going to start having romantic feelings for someone. How is this fucking guy’s day going to end if you are this fucking guy, if this fucking guy really exist[ed]? His future is doomed forever. To put it simply, “it’s only a question of time.”

The ideal tone for the picture was a “puzzle,” Stahelski subsequently told Collider. He dropped a cryptic hint, saying, “We’ve tried to do something at the end that is emotive.”

“John Wick Chapter 4” Will Be the Longest in the Franchise

When asked by Collider how long “Chapter 4” is, director Chad Stahleski said, “Longer than the other three, but it’s not that lengthy.” Stahleski remained silent about the film’s length, but we can assume it to be at least 2 hours and 12 minutes, making it longer than the previous “John Wick” film, “John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum,” which ran for 131 minutes.
