Andre Lotterer Joins Avalanche Andretti For Season 9: In Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Andre Lotterer will join Avalanche Andretti as Jake Dennis’s driving partner as the series transitions to the Gen3 era.
After five years of Formula E competition, three of them spent driving for the works TAG Heuer Porsche, where he finished second four times, the German is switching to the American-run Andretti outfit, which will be powered by the Stuttgart team in Gen3.
The Duisburg native, now 40 years old, has an impressive history in motorsport. In addition to his eight podium finishes in Formula E, he has a storied career in endurance racing, having won the World Endurance Championship in 2012 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans a record three times. In 2023, the Germans will work at both Andretti and Porsche on their LMDh program.

André Lotterer Biography
Andre Lotterer, a German professional racing driver, was born on November 19, 1981. He competes for Avalanche Andretti Formula E in the FIA Formula E Championship.
He won the driver’s title in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times while racing for the works Audi team. He ran for over a decade in the Japanese Super Formula series, eventually taking first place in 2011.

Although Lotterer was a 2002 test driver for the Jaguar Formula One team, he was never given a spot in the team’s lineup. Twelve years later, at the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix, he replaced Kamui Kobayashi for Caterham.

Lotterer was born to a German-Peruvian father, Henri Lotterer, and a Belgian mother, Elizabeth, in Duisburg. His Belgian mother brought him up in Nivelles. Even though he has a license to race in Belgium, he chooses to compete for the German team.
