tvN drama has confirmed to Naver TV that the second season of Alchemy of Souls, titled Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, will premiere on Netflix on December 10, 2022 in Korea and elsewhere across the world.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Plot
According to the trailer uploaded to YouTube by the tvN drama’s official channel, season two takes place three years after season one. Jang Uk is shown holding the Ice Stone while engulfed in the blue flame and avoiding death due to his status as the King’s Star, shortly after his heartbreaking death at the hands of his lover Nak Su, who happens to be occupying Mu-body deok’s as a vessel.
After causing so much destruction, Mu-deok also decides to end his life by jumping from a cliff into the lake. Mu-deok is rescued by two random bystanders at the end of the episode, despite the episode’s ending leading viewers to fear she’s gone for forever.
In the preview, Jang Uk uses Nak-sword su’s to brutally execute the soul-shifters. Nak-quick su’s appearance in a stunning white gown is the teaser’s highlight. The first season didn’t tell us anything about Mu-deok, so season two is shaping up to be really interesting.

Cho-quest Yeon’s for retribution for the death of her father, Nak-reappearance, su’s and the origin and history of the much awaited Mu-deok will all be resolved in the upcoming season.
Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Cast
The majority of the original cast will return for Season 2, and they’ll all be playing bigger and better parts. Jang Uk and Naksu, played by Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung, respectively, will return. The former is famous for his appearances in films such as Alchemy of Souls Part 1 and True Beauty and the latter is well-known for her roles in the television shows Sweet Home and Law School.
Starring alongside Hwang Min Hyun as Seo Yul, Shin Seung Ho as Go Won, Yoo Joon Sang as Park Jin, and Oh Na Ra as Kim Do Ju are several more notable actors. Some of the other actors and actresses who appear in the film include: Yoon In Soo, Arin, Do Sang Woo, Jo Jae Yoon, Park Eun Hye, Im Chul Sool, Hong Seo Hee, Lee Do Kyung, Lee Ha Yul, Seo Hye Won, Choi Kwang II, Kim Yong Jin, Jung Ji Ahn, Shim So Young, Park So Jin, Lee Ji Ho, and Moon Sook.
Park Joon Hwa, who helmed the Bring It On Ghost remake with Ok Taec-Yoon, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Lee Dong Wook’s Touch Your Heart, will return to direct, while screenwriters Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran will also be back at the helm.
Sisters Jung Eun and Mi Ran Hong wrote the scripts for the award-winning dramas Hotel Del Luna and A Korean Odyssey. Composer Yong Kim, who previously scored the Netflix originals A Crash Landing on You and Mr. Sunshine, is coming back for another round.
