The Young Royals Season 3: Oh, wait, no, not quite yet. Young Royals Season 3 Potential Release Date: When Will It Air?
Young Royals’ first two seasons were separated by almost a year and a half, but with COVID regulations seemingly lifted, season three could air sooner than season two did. If that’s the case, we might expect it to drop in the dead of winter, 2023.
That, however, is contingent upon the promptness with which a renewal for season three is announced. Once a new season of a show has premiered, it usually takes Netflix around a month to decide whether or not to renew the show. A release in 2024 is possible if development takes longer than that.
The cancellation of Young Royals would come as a shock to us, but we are prepared for anything. There are a lot of unanswered questions that could be addressed in a third season, and the show has a very dedicated fanbase.

Young Royals Season 3 Cast: Who’s In It?
The Young Royals (and Simon, bless him) make Young Royals what it is, so most of the following will be back for a third season:
• Edvin Ryding as Prince Wilhelm of Sweden
• Omar Rudberg as Simon Eriksson
• Malte Gårdinger as August of Årnäs
• Frida Argento as Sara Eriksson
• Nikita Uggla as Felice Ehrencrona
And they’ll probably be joined by the likes of Pernilla August as Queen Kristina of Sweden, Carmen Gloria Pérez as Linda, Simon and Sara’s mother, and Bjärstad friends Inti Zamora Sobrado as Ayub and Beri Gerwise as Rosh. Ingela Olsson played Hillerska’s principal, Miss Anette Lilja, while Leonard Terfelt played Simon and Sara’s father, Micke.
Ivar Forsling, who plays Prince Erik, will most likely not be back for future seasons. After dying at the end of the first season, Wilhelm’s older brother made only sporadic appearances in flashbacks throughout the second season, and we can expect even less of him in the upcoming third season.
Young Royals Season 3 Plot: What Will Happen?
Young Royals’ first two seasons have mostly focused on the forbidden romance between Simon and Prince Wilhelm of Sweden. After Wil’s treachery at the end of season one, however, Simon’s feelings for him changed dramatically, and he even began seeing another man.
The Prince initially agreed to keep Wilhelm’s secret, but in the second season finale, he decided to reveal that it was actually him on the sex tape that had been leaked. As a result, he is publicly declaring his sexuality and his love for Simon.
Simon is as shocked as the royal advisors are by this unexpected development. But what exactly does this portend for them?
Plus, Sara has already accused August of being the one responsible for making and leaking the sex tape. When will he be taken in for questioning? Or, will August be protected by the Royal Family despite his treachery toward Princes Simon and Wilhelm?
In an interview with Digital Spy, Omar Rudberg (Simon) discussed his hopes for the show’s third season “That’s complicated because there are so many potential outcomes. Lots of thoughts have been floating around in my head.”
However, Omar has hinted that the thoughts he has been harbouring will have a significant impact on the third season of the show:
“Me and Lisa Ambjörn, the head writer, we want to sit down and talk about what we see and feel, the ideas, and what is actually going to happen in the story,” the speaker said.
