The fantasy isekai series “Wise Man’s Grandchild” was first published in 2015 on the independent Japanese website Shsetsuka ni Nar. Tsuyoshi Yoshioka penned the story, and Seiji Kikuchi provided the illustrations. The show chronicles the exploits of Shin Wolford, a contemporary Japanese man who dies in a car crash and is reborn in a fantastical realm.

This new infant version of him is found by the wizard Merlin Wolford, who then raises him to become one of the most powerful wizards in the kingdom of make-believe. Unfortunately, Shin’s sheltered upbringing and his recollection of his previous life only serve to complicate his efforts to adapt to his current environment.

There is no way to know when the second season of “Wise Man’s Grandchild” will premiere because the show’s makers have not yet confirmed its production. The probable length of time it will take to produce Season 2 is much more worrisome. The anime’s first season premiered in 2019, despite having been announced in 2017. Who are the characters in Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2?

Yuusuke Kobayashi portrayed Shin in the original Japanese animation (via Myanimelist). However, Shin is not on his journey alone; he is joined by other students at the same magical academy. The prince of the land, August von Earlshide (Shouhei Komatsu), and Shin’s best friend and love interest, Sicily von Claude (Rina Honizumi), are both enrolled at the same academy. All three of these roles are performed by Daman Mills, Brandon McInnis, and Lindsay Seidel in the English dub.

Along with this central trio, there are a plethora of other characters in Shin’s bizarre fantasy setting. Melinda Bowen, Shin’s magical tutor and protector, and Merlin Wolford, his first magical instructor and father figure, are two such examples.

With the Demonoid threat growing, Shin has decided to lead his crew on a mission to forge relationships with the other kingdoms.
