Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot, And More Details!

Despite Jujutsu Kaisen’s focus on curses, neither the manga by Gege Akutami nor the anime adapted from it are in any way evil.

Since its debut in March 2018, the manga that inspired this franchise has quickly risen to the ranks of best-sellers. The accompanying anime has been setting new benchmarks, most notably with the release of the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

But where will Yuji and the rest of the gang go from here? Get ready for what’s to come in season two of Jujutsu Kaisen by brushing up on your finest cursed techniques and then joining us here at Digital Spy for a look ahead.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Potential Release Date:

The news that season two would be released in two halves, or courses, each focused on distinct arcs from the manga, was announced on September 25 at a 10th-anniversary ceremony for production studio TOHO. The release timetable of other anime shows like SPY x FAMILY is not dissimilar to this split-court concept.

Two teaser photographs have recently been released, giving us an insight into what these arcs would entail. The first, named “The Shibuya Incident,” includes our current heroes Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki. In contrast, the second, “The Jutsu High Chronicles,” features Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, and Shoko Ieiri in their Jutsu High uniforms (suggesting a precursor arc).

Knowing that the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will be split in two, we can now predict that the first half will premiere in the spring or early summer (around May or June), and the second will premiere in the fall (around September or October) (perhaps October-December).

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 cast: Who’s in it?

Here are all of the main Japanese and English voice actors who we assume will return for Jujutsu Kaisen season two:

• Yuji Itadori — Junya Enoki (Japanese); Adam McArthur
• Megumi Fushiguro — Yuma Uchida (Japanese); Robbie Daymond
• Nobara Kugisaki — Asami Seto (Japanese); Anne Yatco
• Maki Zen’in — Mikako Komatsu (Japanese); Allegra Clark
• Toge Inumaki — Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese); Xander Mobus
• Panda — Tomokazu Seki (Japanese); Matthew David Rudd
• Satoru Gojo — Yūichi Nakamura (Japanese); Kaiji Tang
• Kiyotaka Ijichi — Mitsuo Iwata (Japanese); Chris Tergliafera
• Shoko Ieiri — Aya Endō (Japanese); Ryan Bartley

However, what about Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s star, Yuta Okkotsu? A post-credits scene in the prequel movie, as well as the manga, both strongly hint that he will soon make an appearance in the main show.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Plot: What Will Happen?

The Death Painting Arc, which spans chapters 55-64 of the manga, marked the conclusion of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Season two will likely include Gojo’s Past Arc (chapters 65-79), assuming the anime stays true to the original material’s chronology.

New episodes may mix these flashbacks with the Shibuya Incident, which spans chapters 79–136 of the manga. That suggests, without giving too much away, that season two will deal with some big character developments, as well as the identity of the mole now hiding out in Jujutsu High.

The ending of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 teased that Yuta would soon be joining the action, which is excellent in theory but doesn’t bode well for Yuji.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Trailer: When Can I See It?

Though we haven’t seen any footage from the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, we should get a sneak peek at the brand-new episodes sometime in the first half of 2023.
