Kids’ Choice Awards:Updates in 2022!

Winners included Spider-Man: No Way Home and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series at Nickelodeon’s 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards, which were hosted by Miranda Cosgrove and Rob Gronkowski and featured an appearance by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and plenty of slime.

The latest edition in the Spider-Man film franchise won three Orange Blimps during the ceremony held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica for the awards show that is voted on by fans. It took home awards for best picture, best actor (for Tom Holland) in a film, and best actress (for Zendaya), who also won an Oscar for her performance in Dune.

In a similar vein, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series won three awards: favourite kids TV show, favourite female TV star (kids) for Olivia Rodrigo, and favourite male TV star (kids) for Joshua Bassett. Not only did Rodrigo win the award for best new artist, he also won a music award.

The animated film Encanto won for best film, while Scarlett Johansson’s voice in Sing 2 won for best animation voice.

The television winners were: iCarly (favourite family TV show), America’s Got Talent (favourite reality TV show), and SpongeBob SquarePants (favourite cartoon) (favorite cartoon).

Billie Eilish won in two categories: favourite album and favourite song for “Happier Than Ever” (Happier Than Ever). Favorite female artist Ariana Grande won for the second year in a row, while favourite male musician Ed Sheeran took the crown.

During a prerecorded piece, Biden threw a container of slime toward the camera and spoke to the audience. “As a teacher, military parent, and as your first lady, I’m impressed by the tenacity of our youngest generation,” she continued, referring specifically to the military children in the audience and watching the speech on television. “Never stop improving yourself and serving others around you.”

Kid Cudi and Jack Harlow both provided musical entertainment at the event. The likes of Isla Fisher, Gabrielle Union, and Ralph Macchio were in attendance.
