Titan Manga: Next January, Attack on Titan Will Be a Musical.

On Monday, Kodansha announced that the Attack on Titan musical based on Hajime Isayama’s manga will have its world premiere at the Orix Theater in Osaka from January 7 to 9, 2023, and at the Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo from January 14 to 24, 2023.

The drama was written by Masafumi Hata and is being directed by G Ueki. Kaori Miura’s lyrics are set to music by hip hop artist KEN THE 390. The production team hopes to replicate the universe of Attack on Titan by fusing classical staging and music with cutting-edge technology.

Eren Jaeger (Kurumu Okamiya), Mikasa Ackerman (Sara Takatsuki), Armin Arlert (Eito Konishi), and Levi (Ryo Matsuda) are among the primary characters. These additional actors and actresses also play pivotal roles:

After debuting in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009, Hajime Isayama concluded the original Attack on Titan manga in April 2021. In June of 2021, the manga’s final volume, number 34, was released. The manga is being published in English by Kodansha Comics, and the 34th volume was released in October 2021.

While a theatrical adaptation of the manga had been scheduled for 2017, it was scrapped after the tragic death of 38-year-old acrobat Kazutaka Yoshino in a performance mishap.

In April 2013 the first season of the television anime premiered, and in April of 2017 the second season did the same. Part one of the third season debuted in July of 2018, and Part two began in April of 2019 on the NHK General channel in Japan.

In December of 2020, NHK broadcast the first episode of Attack on Titan: The Final Season. The anime is available for English speakers to watch online via Funimation and Crunchyroll. In January 2021, the anime debuted on Adult Swim’s Toonami schedule, and in the same month, Funimation began streaming an English version.

Part 2 of the season premiered on NHK General on January 9 with the episode 76 titled “Danzai” (“Sentencing”). Part 2 of the Attack on Titan: Final Season anime was shown in Japan and immediately made available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Part 3, the last chapter, will premiere on NHK-General in 2023.
