Tekken 8 is the next installment in the popular Tekken series of combat games. The EVO 2022 teaser trailer only showed a brief glimpse of Kazuya Mishima.
Now, thanks to a slick teaser shown at Sony’s State of Play event on September 13, we have a glimpse of the game’s potential visual style, showcasing a confrontation between Jin and his wicked father, Kazuya Mishima.
Is There a Release Date for Tekken 8?
No, unfortunately. Even while the State of Play trailer was significantly more visually engaging than the EVO teaser, we still don’t have a solid release date.
So far, the trailer has simply told us to “keep tuned” for additional information. This is a step up from what was shown at EVO, especially in light of the game’s title change, but it’s still not much.
What Platforms Will Tekken 8 Be on?
It has been revealed that Tekken 8 will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The makers of Tekken 8 have stated that they want to “Push the sensation of power in battles continuously further by harnessing the potential of the newest generation of consoles,” therefore it’s unlikely that the game would be ported to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima are the only two main characters we’ve met so far. And while Devil Jin is a distinct character from Jin in Tekken 7, there’s currently no reason to assume that will remain the case in Tekken 8.
The Mishima family may be Tekken’s most recognizable characters, yet we haven’t seen them yet in the series.
Unlike most video game trailers, this one was shot in real-time at 60 frames per second. However, the final draught is still open to revisions.
