Solo Leveling’ Anime Release Date: Will Solo Leveling Get a Japanese Anime?

The anime series based on the popular South Korean comic Solo Leveling will air on the worldwide streaming service Crunchyroll, created by A-1 Pictures but not available in Asia. An English teaser was also unveiled at the same time as the announcement of the adaptation.

Director Shunsuke Nakashige, head writer Noboru Kimura, character designer Tomoko Sudo, and music arranger Hiroyuki Sawano are all involved in the adaptation’s creation; the original was written by Chugong and illustrated by DUBU (REDICE Studio).

Unexpected “gates,” or a separate channel that would serve as a bridge to connect with another realm, appear in Solo Leveling. Since the gates appeared, a few people on Earth have gained extraordinary powers. The creatures guarding the gates can be defeated by the “hunters,” who use their extraordinary abilities.

A low-ranking hunter named Jinwoo Sung, who is called “the weakest hunter of all mankind,” is hurt when he discovers high-ranking twin dungeons concealed within a low-ranking dungeon. Suddenly, a peculiar quest window appears before him. As his time on Earth draws to a close, Jinwoo decides to accept the mission and start levelling up, leaving behind others who didn’t.

Novelist Chugong is excited to see his creations brought to life in animation. About six years ago, while he was writing the first draught of Solo Leveling, he says, “If someone had told me, ‘The novel you wrote would become a comic,’ I bet I’d have told them to stop yanking my leg.

Quit trying to make me laugh, already! However, I am currently experiencing feelings of excitement and joy. I’d like to see Jinwoo and the rest of the characters becoming animated soon so that I can stop doubting that this is genuine. I plan to keep working hard until that day comes.
