It is expected that Samsung will debut its One UI 5.0 custom software alongside the stable release of Android 13 later this year. A minor upgrade to the company’s Android 12 skin will be released beforehand, though.
One UI 4.1.1 is officially confirmed to release in the next few months. The new One UI upgrade is currently being tested and will soon be released over-the-air (OTA) to compatible models, according to a moderator on Samsung’s community forums in South Korea.
The aforementioned moderator did not specify when exactly the change will be made. If the past is any indicator, though, Samsung will release One UI 4.1.1 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable in August.
Last year, with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, the business introduced the One UI 3.1.1, which is based on Android 11. The moderator has confirmed that the One UI 4.1.1 upgrade will also be made available to the 2021 foldable duo.
As was previously mentioned, Samsung will release One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 shortly after the latter becomes available to the public this fall. In light of this, it’s safe to assume that One UI 4.1.1 won’t stick around for more than a few months before being replaced by a more substantial upgrade.
Also, don’t look for any substantial updates or additions. Nonetheless, a few can be expected. In the event that we learn anything else, we will be sure to share it with you.
One UI 4.1.1 Will Fix a long-Existing Good Lock bug
Although we have no idea what improvements and additions One UI 4.1.1 will make to Samsung’s new foldable, we do know that the upcoming over-the-air update will correct a long-standing bug in the Wonderland module of Good Lock, a suite of personalization and customization tools for Galaxy users. In response to a query concerning this issue, the availability of the One UI 4.1.1 upgrade was confirmed.
Back in December of last year, a Samsung Community user going under the alias JAYO discovered a Wonderland fault in the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It has been said that home screen animations stop functioning properly if the module is used to set up a custom wallpaper. There are also brief periods of total darkness.

The issue has been promised to be resolved for a while now by the company. But it continues to exist even now. Recently, JAYO alerted Samsung of the flaw, and a Good Lock moderator confirmed that it would be addressed in the upcoming release of One UI 4.1.1. It remains to be seen what other tricks the business has up its sleeve to set apart its foldable devices in the year 2022.
