While covering a press conference about the train catastrophe in East Palestine, Ohio, a NewsNation reporter was taken into custody on Wednesday.
The East Palestine Police Department reportedly detained reporter Evan Lambert after being ordered to remain silent by cops. At the same time, Governor Mike DeWine discussed the event, which led to evacuations because of the dangerous chemicals involved.zaSW
According to NewsNation, Lambert was detained after his live report. He had been waiting for the conference to begin at 3 p.m. local time, but it wasn’t until 5 p.m., which conflicted with his scheduled live shoot.
According to representatives from the Columbiana County Jail, Lambert, who was released from custody later that day, is accused of criminal trespassing and disorderly behavior.
