Ikumi Hino’s Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory is a popular Japanese manga series. From December 2017 to June 2022, it ran in Kadokawa Shoten’s shonen manga magazine Monthly Shnen Ace, and as of December 2021, it had been compiled in eight tankbon volumes. The Asread animated TV series premiered in July 2021 and ran through the fall season of 2021.
Plot
Koshi Nagumo, a first-year middle school student, loses his home in a fire and is left homeless, destitute, and without any living relatives. The police pull him up as he lies on the sidewalk, and he ends up being the “dorm mother” for a group of problematic female college students.

Koshi Nagumo
A junior high schooler whose family abandons him when his home burns down and he is forced to find work in the school’s hostel.
Atena Saotome
A female dorm-dweller who suffers from androphobia and chronic nosebleeds. She’s the one who realises she’s Koushi’s big sister before he even seems to have feelings for her.
Mineru Wachi
One who lives in the dorm. She regularly experiments with harmful chemicals and aphrodisiacs in her room, which she has converted into a makeshift laboratory.
Kiriya Senshō
One who lives in the dorm. She is the dojo’s heiress and a fan of shoujo manga and cross-dressing in addition to martial arts.
Frey
One who lives in the dormitory. She is a designer and muse for the world of cosplay. She likes to make Koushi feel awkward by dressing him up in costumes, including women’s apparel.
Mother of the Goddess Dormitory Serene Hozumi
One who lives in the dorm. The moon, she says, is the source of her alien abilities.
Sutea Koroya
Tsundere friend of Koshi’s from childhood who has an odd response to heat and so dislikes physical contact, something Koushi often treats with cold packs.
Uzume Shigaraki
A student who spends a lot of time at the dorm.
Takiri Nagino
A close buddy of Uzume’s and fellow student at the institution. A gyaru with the moniker “Nagi-chan,” her character is characterised by this trait.

Serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s shnen manga magazine Monthly Shnen Ace from December 26, 2017, to June 24, 2022, Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory was written and illustrated by Ikumi Hino. As of 25 December 2021, the series has been collected into eight tankbon volumes.

Anime
In the fifth volume of the manga, it was revealed that the anime would premiere on May 25, 2020. Asread animated the series, with Shunsuke Nakashige serving as director. Masashi Suzuki wrote the episodes, and Maiko Okada created the characters. Series music is being composed by Tomoki Kikuya. The series broadcast on AT-X and other networks from July 14 to September 15, 2021.
The opening theme song “Naughty Love” was performed by the five-member unit Megami Rysei, and the closing theme song “Zettai! Kimi Sengen” is performed by Megami Rysei+. For South and Southeast Asia, Muse Communication acquired the rights to the show. In non-Asian regions, Sentai Filmworks has the rights to distribute the show; on August 25, 2021, the English dub premiered on the HIDIVE platform.
