Mortal Kombat 12 Has Been Revealed As Revealed The Classic Mortal Kombat 1

NetherRealm Studios has unveiled Mortal Kombat 1, the next installment in its long-running fighting game series, which will be released in September. Because as previous teasers have hinted, Mortal Kombat 1 is a sort of reboot of the series and takes place in the New Era timeline established by Liu Kang after he ascended to godhood in Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat 1 will have a story mode, a unique roster of characters, and a new fighting system similar to previous games. More can be seen in the trailer below.

While this new entry has many new changes and ideas, one thing that hasn’t changed is the series’ trademark ultra-violence. Mortal Kombat, like previous installments in the series, is heavy on gore, blood, and fatalities. Kameo Fighters, one of the new systems teased for the game, will allow you to summon an assist from a fighter on the roster. Kameo Fighters is a different roster of partner characters who assist you during matches and are chosen separately from the main fighter roster.

PlayStation Tweeted about the game’s release date by writing Mortal Kombat 1 instead of Mortal Kombat 12. You can see the Tweet below.

NetherRealm has confirmed Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many more for Mortal Kombat 1. Tsung will be available as a preorder bonus, and Johnny Cage will have access to a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin via Kombat Pack DLC. He is a “Kameo” fighter who can assist players during a match.

NetherRealm has confirmed that there will be a rollback netcode for multiplayer, and players who preorder the game for console will be able to participate in an August beta. Mortal Kombat 1 will be available on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 19, with early access beginning on September 14, depending on which version of the game you own. The base version will cost $70, with a $110 Premium Edition and a $250 Kollector’s Edition are also available.
