This weekend sees the arrival of the first participants to participate in the Open Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. People who preordered a PS4 or PS5 will be among the first to receive their systems on Friday, September 16. The beta is free to everyone on PlayStation from September 18-20, and it runs until September 17.

When Is The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta?
The two weekends of this month will host the Open Beta for Modern Warfare 2. Players with a PS4 or PS5 can participate in the beta from September 16-20. There is no requirement for PlayStation Plus membership to take part. Early access to the beta begins on September 16 at 10 a.m. for those who have preordered the game or have a beta code. PT.
Early access is platform-independent and tied to your Activision account, so even if you preordered the game on another system, you may still participate in the PlayStation early access period. Assuming, of course, that you have access to a PlayStation gaming system.
The second beta test will run from September 22nd through the 26th, and it will be cross-platform (including crossplay). Early access to the beta begins on September 22 at 10 a.m. for anyone who preordered Modern Warfare 2. PT.
How To Access The Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta?
A code will be sent to you via your preferred retailer in advance of the September 16 launch of the Beta, provided you place your preorder before then. Once you have this code, head to your online Activision profile and input it there. It’s not that complicated, but by the time you need to submit your code on Thursday or Friday, we’ll have a detailed guide built up.
