On Friday, a new image and teaser trailer for Mah Shjo Magical Destroyers (Magical Girl Magical Destroyers), an original television anime by underground art and music creation Jun Inagawa, were posted on the series’s official website.
This trailer introduces us to the magical girl Anarchy, the major characters, additional personnel, and the year 2023 when the anime will first air.
Inagawa is credited with coming up with the plot and designing the characters from scratch. The animation is being directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (FLCL Progressive, Kiratto Pri Chan) at Bibury Animation Studio (Grisaia: Phantom Trigger, The Quintessential Quintuplets, Azur Lane).
The assistant director is Masao Kawase, who previously worked as the action director for Azure Striker Gunvolt and the director of Kiratto PriChan. Daishiro Tanimura, who previously scripted episodes of Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and Golden Kamuy, is in charge of the series’ writing.
A prior live-action teaser was directed by Inagawa, with “film” credited to udai. The music was composed by Ucary & the Valentine, while Manjimaru Shimada was billed as a “magical girl.” Producer responsibilities fell to Anan Kaminaka. The logo was created by graphic designer GUCCIMAZE.
Inagawa is well-known for erasing lines between genres and fandoms, particularly in the areas of anime and music. Inagawa has worked with many different labels and artists before, but this is the first time he’s been able to achieve what he “really wanted to do.”
