New Year’s Eve Celebrations In Times Square: In addition to a schedule of musical performances and other celebrations ringing in 2023, New Year’s Eve revellers across the world can watch the famous Times Square Ball Drop live from New York City online for free and without advertisements.
The Times Square 2023 webcast will last for six hours, from 6 p.m. ET on December 31, 2022, until 12:15 a.m. ET on January 1, 2023. A number of websites, including TimesSquareNYC.org, LiveStream.com/2023, and TimesSquareBall.net, all of which are supported by Vimeo’s Livestream platform, will stream the performance.
The Times Square New Year’s Eve livestream will include performances by JVKE, Jax, Ava Max, J-Hope, Osmani Garcia, New Edition, Sech, and Duran Duran in addition to Chelsea Cutler, who will sing John Lennon’s “Imagine” shortly before midnight and perform a number of her classics starting at 7 p.m. ET.
Times Square will also play a major role in the television programmes that will air on ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN. There will also be Univision’s “Feliz 2023!” and ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” both of which will feature live performances by Duran Duran, Jax, J-Hope, and New Edition on New Year’s Eve (featuring Sech and Osmani Garcia).

The New Year’s Eve Ball will be lit and raised to the top of One Times Square at 6 p.m. ET to officially start the evening. Jonathan Bennett, an actor and TV personality from “Mean Girls,” “The Holiday Sitter,” and “Cake Wars,” will once again serve as the host of the webcast. Jeremy Hassell, a co-host who has participated in the Times Square New Year’s Eve event since 2016, will be present with Bennett.
The Jamestown, the real estate firm that owns One Times Square, app (vnye.com) will also offer a free feed of Times Square. Users of VNYE can virtually tour Times Square landmarks, engage in gaming, and watch livestreams of New Year’s Eve celebrations both in Times Square and throughout the globe.

The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment are responsible for co-organizing the annual event. The first New Year’s Eve celebration at Times Square took place on the rooftop of One Times Square in 1904, and this year marks the 118th iteration of that tradition.

In Times Square, a ball-lowering ceremony was held for the first time in 1907. On New Year’s Eve, a roughly 6-ton ball with a circumference of 12 feet and 2,688 Waterford crystal triangles and 32,256 LEDs will drop from the top of the 26-story One Times Square structure beginning 60 seconds before the stroke of midnight local time.
