The F-35B aircraft, which was hovering over Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, started to drop toward the ground. Before the plane crashed nose-first and went into a spin that appeared to be fueled by its vertical propulsion system, the landing gear impacted the ground and then rebounded back into the air.
