Everything you need to know about Father Brown’s return can be found in the following paragraphs.

When is Father Brown season nine on TV?

A definite ten-episode ninth season of BBC One Daytime’s Father Brown will air in the early months of 2022.

It was originally planned for 2021 when the show was renewed for the ninth season in 2019.

COVID-related filming delays have pushed the air date back, as production was put on hold in 2020 due to a lockdown. A new season of the show will begin filming in June of 2021, and the BBC has already announced a special episode to commemorate the show’s landmark 100th episode. This will take place on the eve of the new year.

On weekdays, the show airs on BBC One in the UK and PBS in the United States, and on BBC UKTV and ABC in Australia.

What is Father Brown about?

The daytime drama is based on the short stories of GK Chesterton and centers on a Roman Catholic priest who investigates crimes in the rural areas of England.

The crimes in the show can range from simple theft to the murder of a local beekeeper just last season.

For the 100th episode, The Red Death, BBC has also released a synopsis. In the show “Counting down to 1954, Lady Felicia and Monty will host a lavish masked ball. A masked assassin kills Sir Charles Hackworth, the Minister of Defense, putting an end to their plot. Father Brown and the gang must find the real killer now that the estate is under lock and key.”

100th episode guests include Richard Dillane (Sir Charles Hackworth), Alexander Hanson (Lord Montague), Gemma Page (Lady Agnes Hackworth), Caleb Frederick (Dr. Elliot Muthomi), and Nicholas Audsley (Robert Earl of Finchmore), and Cam Spence (Cameron) (Ruth Moulton).

For us, it’s just as much fun to tell our stories as it is to watch them. One hundred episodes and worldwide success for a simple, warm daytime show. “Who would have guessed?”
