49ers quarterback Brock Purdy found it challenging to throw in the NFC Championship Game after suffering an elbow injury on San Francisco’s opening drive of the contest.
After the Sunday loss, Brock Purdy described the injury as “extremely painful.”
In his press conference, Purdy stated, “My arm just felt like it stretched out.” “I felt like I was getting a lot of shocks from my elbow down to my wrist, front and back. It’s just pain all over.
To load up and pass the ball to Brandon Aiyuk with 7:03 left in the first quarter, Eagles defensive end Haason Reddick collided with Purdy’s elbow.
After a review, it was discovered that Brock Purdy had batted the ball ahead after it had left his hand, despite the play initially being deemed an incomplete pass. After Philadelphia successfully resisted the challenge, the Eagles were given the ball.
“I assumed that was an imperfect pass,” Purdy said. Then, as they were analyzing the play, I realized something wasn’t right, so when a third down drew near, I walked to the sideline to ask for a ball. I thus wondered whether I might toss.

And even in those little tosses, I could see something wasn’t right. It was a mistake as well. After that, they checked everything, and it was just unpleasant when I attempted to throw while standing on the sidelines.
Brock Purdy was compelled to play again when Josh Johnson suffered a concussion despite being aware of his significant limits.
“I had been tossing after the hit on the sideline to gauge my position. But it was uncomfortable even during those tosses,” Purdy affirmed. Therefore, I could not throw anything farther than 10 or 5 yards. That being the case, we merely had some displays. When I stepped back in, that was indeed our only choice.
Brock Purdy revealed that he would receive an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, as stated by head coach Kyle Shanahan.
“It is a little swollen in the forearm area near the elbow,” Purdy said. “Still in pain. Just have to get the MRI tomorrow.”
