Blood Bowl 3 2023 Gets New February Release Date

Blood Bowl 3 2023: Cyanide Studios and Nacon are hard at work on the next instalment of their popular turn-based fantasy football video game, Blood Bowl 3. It’s the follow-up to the 2015 video game Blood Bowl 2, which was also adapted from Games Workshop’s Blood Bowl board game. The PC, PS4, XB1, PS5, and XB Series versions of the game are set for release in February 2023, with a Nintendo Switch port following later that year.

There can be up to 16 players on the field at once in this fantasy football game, with each side using 11 players at a time. Crossing into the other team’s end zone for a touchdown. In order to make it easier to score goals, players may try to harm, maim, or even kill the opposition.

Blood Bowl (first released in 2009) and Blood Bowl 2 were both developed by Cyanide (released in 2014). After settling out of court with Games Workshop about claims that Blood Bowl and Cyanide’s 2004 game Chaos League were too similar to each other, they were granted permission to make the games in question.

After a gap of 22 years, Games Workshop resumed support and production of miniatures for the Blood Bowl board game in 2016. Blood Bowl Second Season Edition, which included new rosters and regulations, was published on November 27, 2020. As a result, Blood Bowl 2 was rendered obsolete due to its adherence to out-of-date rules, necessitating the development of a new Blood Bowl game.

The game’s release date wainitiallyly set for August 2021, but was pushed back to February 2022 in June 2021. A clip depicting the game’s campaign was released alongside the news of the postponement. Those interested in participating in a closed beta had to sign up between June 3 and 13, 2021Scheduled initially for PC early access in September 2021, Cyanide has since announced a “indefinite delay.” Since the COVID-19 epidemic pushed back the release date from February 2022 to “later in 2022,” Nacon announced the new release date in November 2021.

Nacon revealed in January 2022 that the game would not get an early access release as planned, but instead would have another closed beta from 25 January to 2 February, followed by a final complete release on PC and consoles later that year. Participants in the closed beta test in June 2021 were limited to those who had signed up for the event. Between June 1st to June 12th, 2022, PC users participated in another beta.

Nacon revealed the game’s February 23rd, 2023 release date in November 2022 for all platforms except Nintendo Switch, which wouldn’t be available until later in 2023.
