Avengers: Secret Wars Release Date, Cast, Plot And More Details!

At the Marvel panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, Feige announced that the release date for Avengers: Secret Wars will be November 8, 2025. With the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 5, 2018, fans will have their choice of two new Avengers films in 2018.

Feige previously justified the six-year gap between Avengers: Endgame and the next Avengers movie, saying, “When we were doing Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3, there were [fewer] projects across more years.” Since these were smaller films and character tales, it made sense to do an Avengers feature at the end of each phase, which typically took two to three years.

Considering that Hawkeye, Wanda, and even Loki, who is closely associated with the Avengers, each have their own programme on Disney Plus, Marvel’s head has hinted that the increased output from Marvel, including the MCU shows, reduces the need for a new Avengers feature every year. Disney Plus shows establish canon and lore that are officially recognised as part of the MCU and integrated into feature films.

Avengers: Secret Wars cast

Given how far away the release of Avengers: Secret Wars is, there has been no casting news. Thor, Miles Morales, Peter Parker, Wolverine, Captain America, She-Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and a plethora of other Marvel Books characters were in the 2015 Secret Wars comics, on which the film appears to be based. Other major antagonists in the Secret Wars saga were the Beyonder, the Lizard, Magneto, Doctor Doom (in his most potent incarnation as God Emperor Doom), Molecule Man, and Kang the Conqueror.

Since Jonathan Majors has been cast as the villainous Kang in the upcoming Netflix series Kang Dynasty, he will most likely return in the sequel. The three major villains are Doctor Doom, the Beyonder, and Molecule Man, however the plot may be rewritten to make Kang the ultimate supervillain who dooms the heroes to an unending battle.

Because of the Multiverse’s expanded capacity for alternate timelines, it’s also theoretically feasible that Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will reprise their roles as Iron Man and Captain America, respectively, but it seems highly improbable. Yet, we can certainly assume that Superheroes with Phases 4–6 solo projects, including Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange, Thor, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and the Fantastic Four, will show up to try to save Earth.

Avengers: Secret Wars plot

The first Secret Wars narrative debuted in 1984 as part of a cooperation between Marvel and toy manufacturer Mattel, with the purpose of releasing a line of toys in tandem with a massive crossover event in the comics. The original Secret Wars was the first official Marvel crossover event, with the twelve-part series touted as a confrontation between the Marvel Universe’s greatest heroes and villains.

The story’s main antagonist, The Beyonder, sends our heroes to a planet named Battleworld, where they are confined and forced into (what seems like) everlasting war with other villains. Spider-Man, for example, has his iconic black outfit turned out to be a sentient alien symbiote that tries to possess Peter Parker’s mind before affixing itself to Eddie Brock and becoming Venom.

Despite the fact that the original Secret Wars is beloved, it appears that the MCU will be more in line with the 2015 comic book series that witnessed the end of the Prime Marvel Universe (Earth-616). The Beyonders, of which there are many, seek to destroy the Multiverse by causing catastrophic universe-to-universe collisions called Incursions. The Beyonders are able to pull this off because Molecule Man is the sole character who has the same role and identity in every universe. In essence, he is a failsafe whose abilities can be used to wipe out that universe if the Beyonders decide to activate them.

Doctor Doom, however, is able to thwart the Beyonders. Doom, being the villain that he is, then recreates Battleworld by splicing together parts from other dimensions. Many heroes were altered irrevocably, yet the Avengers prevailed and ultimately defeated God Emperor Doom. The foundation for this tale has already been established. Doctor Strange of Earth-838 triggers an intrusion that destroys both his universe and another in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Both the second Doctor Strange film and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which depicted alternate versions of Peter Parker, contributed significantly to the canonization of the Multiverse.
