Yuta Okkotsu: Yuta Okkotsu ( Okkotsu Yta? ), the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High, is a prominent supporting character in the main Jujutsu Kaisen series. Before, he was a particular grade-cursed human plagued by visions of his late childhood companion, Rika Orimoto. Yuta was accepted to Tokyo Jujutsu High thanks to his master, Satoru Gojo.
Currently a second-year student and jujutsu sorcerer at Jujutsu High, Yuta has been practising his craft for quite some time. Before returning to Tokyo following the Shibuya Incident, he trained with Miguel in Africa. Likewise, now we can see people searching for Yuta Okkotsu.
Yuta Okkotsu Appearance
Yuta Okkotsu is an average-sized young man with unruly black hair and icy blue eyes. It was clear from Yuta’s body language that the pressures of being a first-year student were getting to him. He still has under-eye circles from insufficient sleep, and his posture is quite unconfident. Yuta, now a sophomore, has let his hair grow out and prefers to wear it in a more natural style than the spiky one he had in his first year.
Yuta’s preparatory school required him to wear a suit as part of his uniform. When not formal, he wore a black t-shirt with dark green slacks or a long-sleeved shirt that ends at his forearms. Yuta got a new uniform when he transferred to Tokyo Jujutsu High. Yuta wears a white jacket with loose sleeves that end at his forearms as part of his uniform. Slim blue pants mirror the cut of his blazer, which he tucks into white sneakers. Even more frequently, Yuta will strap the case for his katana to his back.

Yuta Okkotsu Personality
Yuta Okkotsu was a shy, solitary kid who was frequently picked on at school. Yuta has lost all sense of self-worth and social skills due to Rika’s spectral presence throughout his formative years. Since this, Yuta has had a hard time talking to others because they either startle him unintentionally or he is too shy to approach them.
However, Yuta’s genuine concern for others led him to choose solitude, even if it meant remaining alone. Yuta was labeled a mope by Maki Zenin, who pointed out that he had never accomplished anything in his life. He realized this accurately and took her words of wisdom to heart, strengthening his resolve to become a jujutsu wizard. Yuta gains insight into his true motivation for seeking self-confidence: they want to feel like he belongs somewhere.
Yuta’s shyness remains intact, but he gradually opens up and engages in typical social behavior. Yuta had some progress, but he struggled to connect with someone like Toge Inumaki. At first, he is afraid of Toge, but then he gets to know him better and finds out what a nice guy he is.
Making new friends has given Yuta a boost of self-assurance and offered him a more precise focus on his ultimate aim of helping Rika break free. He tried his hardest to rescue her, bearing the guilt that he had caused her to become a curse. A more determined part of himself emerged as he challenged himself in training and listened to the advice of his friends and mentors. Yuta’s deepest motivation is to one day be someone who can help keep others safe.
Yuta’s dark nature was fully displayed in his fight with Suguru Geto. Yuta’s only companions had been injured by Geto, and the young guy was ready to kill. Out of his anger, Yuta was able to control Rika’s abilities at will. To avenge his buddies, the only people who give him the strength to keep going, he is willing to risk his life by having Rika kill Geto.
After spending some time abroad, Yuta returned to Jujutsu High with a new Rika and an air of being completely lost in his darkness. To appease the higher-ups, he agreed to kill Yuji Itadori, Gojo’s other student, and he’d use the excuse that he was avenging the loss of Toge’s arm. Yuta came across as quite stoic and calm. He apologized while trying to kill Yuji, and this was before they had even spoken.
All this was a charade to shield Yuji from the powers. To make things seem more credible, Yuta acted in a certain manner and managed to save Yuji from dying for good. Despite their lack of prior acquaintance, Yuta went to aid Yuji by lying to authorities at Gojo’s request. For Yuta, the fact that Yuji is valuable to those around him was reason enough to lend a hand. Because he has been in Yuji’s shoes, facing execution while possessing a power he could never expect to control, he feels compassion for him. Yuta does not hold Yuji accountable for Sukuna’s behavior.

Yuta is a naturally pleasant person who has grown significantly as a person now that he no longer needs to hide behind the false guise of a cold killer. He’s become a lot less reserved and more outgoing. The outspoken educator Gojo was shocked to find Yuta spouting jokes during their time together in Africa.
Yuta quickly felt at home with his contemporaries and committed to assisting them. To save his sister from the Culling Game, he agreed to help Megumi. As a responsible senpai, he also promised to intervene if Sukuna regained control of Yuji’s body. After seeing Maki again, Yuta was happy to see her yet worried about her wounds.
Yuta was worried when it looked like Master Tengen’s barrier had rejected their party, so he quickly suggested they head back because Megumi’s sister didn’t have time to wait around. Tengen’s decision to let them in and share this information proved to be the deciding factor in Yuta’s decision to start the Culling Game immediately. Despite Kinji Hakari’s gloomy disposition, he urged them to enlist his assistance and even admitted that Hakari’s strength occasionally outmatched his own.
Yuta Okkotsu Abilities And Powers
At a high level of expertise, Yuta is one of the four sorcerers of the Special Grade at Jujutsu High. Due to Rika’s enormous power, Yuta was the most recent individual to be classified as a particular grade while plagued by her vengeful spirit.
When Satoru sent Yuta on his first mission, he had no idea how to deal with his cursed energy or how to fight. He put his trust in Maki until the two of them were sucked by a curse, and it was up to Yuta to save everyone trapped inside. Because Yuta could channel his feelings into a full manifestation of Rika, he could break the other curse and set everyone free. Yuta used his little physical strength and stamina to carry everyone outside the barrier.
This made Yuta acutely conscious of his frailty, and Maki spent the subsequent three months teaching him the fundamentals of armed fighting. He was never able to strike Maki, but he constantly trained to improve and developed much better movement. Yuta relied heavily on the expertise of his classmate Toge during their second mission together, an exorcism.
Toge was hurt defending Yuta from an ambush by a curse of medium strength. In this instance, Yuta took the initiative without consulting Rika and assisted Toge in casting it out. Thanks to his training, Yuta could escape the cursed spirit’s assaults and even counter with one of his own. But the curse was severe, and Yuta had little control over his cursed energy at the time, so the cut was only superficial.
Yuta crushed Aoi Todo and the rest of Kyoto Jujutsu High School’s competitors at the 2017 Goodwill Event. Even though Maki said Rika was still around and probably the reason Yuta won the event, no evidence exists that he fully manifested her at that time.
Throughout his time at Jujutsu High, Yuta continued to train and strengthen his sorcerer skills. Satoru dispatched Toge and Panda to foil Suguru Geto’s plan to steal Rika from him on December 24. Suguru wouldn’t kill Yuta’s pals, but Satoru knew he’d hurt them badly enough to anger Yuta. When Yuta confronted Geto about harming Maki, Toge, and Panda, this was exactly the situation. The weight of Yuta’s emotions caused his strength to surge, and he felt a surge of incredible cursed energy go through his body. This greatly improved Yuta’s physical powers and senses.
Only three months after the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, in March of 2018, Yuta had regained his status as a sorcerer of exceptional grade. He’s a prodigy who’s second only to Satoru Gojo in extraordinary power and abilities. Satoru coerced Miguel, one of Geto’s allies, into training Yuta. While Yuta and Miguel were in another country looking for the Black Rope, Miguel served as a guide and mentor.
After the Shibuya Incident and Satoru’s sealing, Yuta did not come back to Tokyo until November of that year. To save Satoru’s pupil, Yuta volunteered to be Yuji’s executioner and won over some of the higher-ups with his swift delivery of curses over a devastated Tokyo. In the process of saving a little girl from a giant cursed spirit, he was rescued himself, and Rika promptly dispatched the latter without even making an appearance.
Yuta was immediately identified as a significant threat after he arrived to destroy Sukuna’s ship. The three influential jujutsu practitioners, Yuji, Choso, and Naoya, were all momentarily afflicted by Yuta’s disturbing cursed energy. Naoya, who takes special pride in his abilities, quickly aligned himself with Yuta to prevent disputes. Another particular grade, Choso, warned Yuji to get out of there promptly because Yuta’s overwhelming strength was on par with Satoru Gojo’s and would surely kill him.
