Where Is My Southern Family Christmas Filmed: The Hallmark Channel’s newest movie, “My Southern Family Christmas,” premieres on Thursday, November 24, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. Characters played by Jaicy Elliot, Ryan Rottman, Moira Kelly, and Bruce Campbell.
The holiday movie “My Southern Family Christmas” was shot on location in Louisiana. Vancouver, British Columbia, serves as the setting for many Hallmark films, with many Canadian areas standing in for their U.S. counterparts in the movie. However, no other city comes close to Baton Rouge when attempting to portray a city like it.
A town called Sorrento in Ascension Parish appears in the trailer, and the Weekly Citizen reports that this is where some of the filmings took place.
Filming took place “outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in a little shopping area called the Cajun Village,” according to IMDB Pro. Filming is taking place from September 21st to September 23rd, as reported by BRProud.com.
According to Daniel Lewis, the executive producer, “the Roberts and all of the vendors, as well as the community of Sorrento, have been very supportive.”
In Lewis’s words, “most of the crew members are from Louisiana, and a few of the cast members are from there as well.”
