In February of 2018, Seven Seas Entertainment said that they had acquired the English rights to the series. The series’ debut English-language volume came out in September of that year. Here’s how Seven Seas sums up the plot:
High school senior Tomo Aizawa, who has always had a thing for boys, manages to confess her feelings for Jun, a boy she has known since they were kids. Unfortunately, Jun doesn’t understand her confession; he didn’t find out she was a girl until middle school, and he still considers her to be a bro even now. Tomo-chan has no chance of winning Jun’s affections if he continues to think that way.

Throughout the years of April 2015 – July 2019, Saizensen’s Twitter account and official website serialized Yanagida’s Tomo-chan as a Girl manga. Kodansha printed eight tankbon volumes including the series.
The serial took up the prize for Best Web Manga at the 2016 Next Manga Award ceremony. At Anime Expo 2022 in July, it was revealed that a TV anime adaptation of the manga would be produced.
