The Upshaws Season 3: The Upshows’ Renewed For Season 3 On Netflix

The Upshaws Season 3: The Upshaws, Netflix’s multi-camera comedy that has viewers in stitches, will return for a third season. This morning, Variety broke the news that the streaming service has renewed the Wanda Sykes and Regina K. Hicks-created comedy for the second season of laughs, life lessons, and family values. Part two of the sequel was released on Netflix in late June, while the other half has yet to be dated.

The Upshaws is a sitcom about an African-American family and their attempts to navigate the ups and downs of everyday life. Bennie Upshaw (Mike Epps), a mechanic, and his wife Regina (Kim Fields) struggle to provide for their brood in Indiana, which includes their two daughters, Aaliyah (Khali Spraggins) and Maya (Journey Christine) and Bernard Upshaw Jr. (Jermelle Simon), as well as Kelvin Upshaw (Diamond Lyons), Bennie’s son from a previous relationship. The family faces new challenges in each new episode as they fight to stay united and grow closer.

Netflix has had a rough go of it in recent years with long-running multi-camera shows, such as The Crew, Mr. Iglesias, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, and Country Comfort, all of which were canceled after a short run. The only other multi-camera series on the platform besides The Upshaws is Family Reunion, which is about to release its third and final season at the end of this month. The recent cancellations are evidence of the solid fan base that The Upshaws has built for itself.

The Upshaws Season 3 Release Date

In a matter of weeks, the year will come to a close, and with it, many of the viewers who have stuck with this popular TV show throughout its first two seasons will return. There has been no official confirmation of the rumored premiere date. The Upshaws Season 3 may premiere in late 2023 or early 2024, similar to when the first two seasons were made available.

Season 2 will premiere on the streaming service, but the show has already been renewed for a third season. Later in 2022, the remaining episodes of the second season will begin airing. Hicks’ overall arrangement with Netflix, under which she will write, produce, and create original content for the service, was renewed.

The Upshaws Season 3 Plot

The exact plotline of the third season cannot be determined at this early stage because the remaining episodes of the second season are still scheduled for publication. It is expected to continue the story as a multi-camera comedy revolving around a middle-class African-American family in Indiana who lacks the resources to do things correctly. Bennie Upshaw heads a family of working-class African-Americans in Indianapolis.

A charming, well-intentioned mechanic and lifelong mess, he is doing his best to take responsibility for his family (wife Regina, their two young kids, and the teenage son he fathered with another woman) and to care for them while still tolerating his caustic sister-in-law. But the Upshaws are committed to making their relationship work and moving forward as a couple.

The exact number of episodes (around ten to sixteen), same length (around twenty-five to thirty minutes), and same day of release are expected from the new season. We assume that, for continuity’s sake, it will follow the same format as the previous seasons.
