We’ve learned much about Mortal Kombat 1 in the last few days, including the minimum and recommended PC specifications. According to the game’s Steam page, the system requirements appear to be relatively modest, at least when compared to other new 2023 games like The Last Of Us Part 1.
The minimum requirements for the game, as shown in the list below, include an Intel Core i5-6600 or an AMD Ryzen 3 3100 for the CPU and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 (along with AMD RX 470 and the Intel Arc A750) for the GPU. The recommended specifications are understandably more demanding.
With an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X CPU and an Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc A770 GPU. However, it will require 100 GB of hard drive space, which is, unfortunately, the norm for most big games.
Given that the GeForce 1080 Ti is now three generations old, these specifications are well within reach of even gamers with aging rigs. Diablo 4’s specifications call for at least an Intel i7-8700k and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 for ultra 4K requirements.

Of course, you’ll need a beefier rig to play Mortal Kombat 1 in 4K, and we don’t know what its ultra requirements are, but it’s safe to assume that you can play the game with reasonable settings even if your PC is a few years old. Mortal Kombat 1 is a sequel and a reboot of the well-known fighting game series.

Conclusion: Mortal Kombat 1 has lower PC requirements than other 2023 games. It has CPUs and GPUs that older gamers can afford for smooth gameplay. A few-year-old PC can run the game at decent settings, but 4K requires a beefier rig.
