Reacher Season 2: Amazon Prime Video quickly renewed Reacher for a second season after the first went over well with subscribers. The series brought back Lee Child’s Jack Reacher to our screens after a brief hiatus after Tom Cruise’s portrayal of the character. Now that it’s a TV show on Prime Video, Reacher is seen on smaller screens than before.
And yet, with Alan Ritchson at the helm, Reacher is more popular than ever. The Titans star, at 6 feet 2 inches, is closer to the imposing 6 feet 5 inches in the books, and he makes good use of his height and build in the first season of Reacher.
Reacher Season 2 Release Date
We’re still waiting for a confirmed release date, but as mentioned, Prime Video announced a renewal for Reacher just three days after the premiere of season one.
Amazon (via Deadline) claims that in a 24-hour period, Reacher was among the top five most-watched series in the United States and around the world. It has a high rating among users, too, so the rapid renewal is not unexpected.
As we had previously been informed by our main man Ritchson, “filming will commence this fall,” and in September of 2022, he provided another update to his fans by posting an Instagram from the set.
After an absence of some time, “we’re back, bigger and better than ever,” he declared in a video message. “Get out the Reacher slate and we’re ready to go! Since this is written down, consider us committed.”
New episodes probably won’t premiere until early 2023, but we’re holding out hope for a summer 2023 debut.

Reacher Season 2 Cast
Starring alongside Ritchson’s Reacher in the first season were actors like Malcolm Goodwin as Finley, Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe, and Harvey Guillén as Jasper.
Aside from Alan Ritchson as Reacher, it seems the only cast member who is guaranteed to return is given the conclusion of the series (more on that in a bit).
In response to the swift renewal of Reacher for a second season, Ritchson wrote on Instagram: “Whoaaaaaa!!! Wow, that’s amazing! Unlike Reacher, who deliberately remains silent, I have nothing to say.
“Thanks to you, #ReacheronPrime has become one of @primevideo’s all-time most watched shows in just our first weekend! I can’t believe you said that.
Reacher’s former Army subordinate Frances Neagley is one of the few recurring characters in the series, as readers of the books know. Today (May 18), it was announced (via Deadline) that Maria Sten would be returning for the sequel.

In the future, Maxwell Jenkins could return as a Young Reacher in additional flashbacks; however, if he ages too quickly, the production team may look elsewhere to show more of Reacher’s childhood in season two.
The role of Karla Dixon has been announced for Serinda Swan (Inhumans, Ballers), and the cast also features Rory Cochrane (24), Domenick Lombardozzi (Boardwalk Empire), Ferdinand Kingsley (The Sandman, Victoria), Ty Victor Olsson (The Man in the High Castle), Josh Blacker (See), and Al Sapienza (Suits).
Dean McKenzie from Arrow, Shannon Kook-Chun from The 100, Luke Bilyk from Good Witch, Andres Collantes from Honor Society, and Edsson Morales from Fahrenheit 451 are among the new cast members.
Reacher Season 2 Plot
Season one of Reacher followed Jack as he tried to find the person responsible for his brother’s death, and by the end of the season, the investigation was largely concluded.
Now that the mystery has been solved, Reacher has decided to part ways with Margrave in search of new opportunities, much to Roscoe’s dismay. She tells Reacher, “If you wander back, give me a call,” and hands him a chocolate wrapper with her number on it.
Reacher lays to rest a medal with significant emotional value at his brother’s gravesite after saying his final goodbyes. After drying his eyes, he decides to hitchhike to greener pastures.
The first season followed the events of the first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor, but the second season has been confirmed to skip ahead significantly, to the events of the eleventh novel in the series, Bad Luck and Trouble.
Reacher Season 2 Trailer
It’s not out of the question that we’ll get to see some brand new Reacher season 2 footage in the days and weeks leading up to the premiere. So, early 2023 is the most likely time frame.
