Whitecaps Fc Released Defender Erik Godoy!

Erik Godoy has been released by Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

The 28-year-old Argentine got three goals and one assist in 64 games with Vancouver (59 starts).

He signed on loan from Colon de Santa Fe before signing permanently.

Erik performed a crucial role throughout his time in Vancouver, said sporting director Axel Schuster. “After a conversation with Erik, all parties agreed it’s time for him and our club to split ways. We’ll continue to support Erik as he looks for a new club and wish him well.

Ranko Veselinovic and Tristan Blackmon will be Vancouver’s main centre backs without Godoy. They added Julian Gressel and Alessandro Schöpf in the secondary transfer window.
