There were nine nominations for Winans, including artist of the year, an album of the year (Believe For It), song of the year (Believe For It), and female vocalist of the year. Stellar Award winner Pastor Mike Jr. received eight nominations, including artist of the year, producer of the year, and album of the year for his latest album.
T.A.M., J.M. & M., and T.D. each received six nods, with Mali Music receiving an additional nod in recognition of their work on another project. Kelantan Gavin, Maverick City Music, Israel Houghton, and Ricky Dillard are among the other candidates.
McReynolds & Mali Music, Maverick City Music, and Mann are all nominated for artist of the year alongside Pastor Mike, Jr. and Winans.
Aaron Lindsey, a musician, and producer, will receive the Aretha Franklin icon award from Aflac as part of this year’s special awards, while Dillard, a choir director, and artist, will be recognized with the James Cleveland lifetime achievement award from Toyota. Candi Staton will receive the Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones legends award.
The Central City Productions-hosted 37th annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will take place on Saturday, July 16 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. The ceremony, which will be shown on BET, BET Her, and BET International next month and syndicated in local markets between August 13 and September 11, will be co-hosted by Jekalyn Carr and Kierra Sheard-Kelly.

Tye Tribbett, Marvin Sapp, Maranda Curtis, and Travis Greene will perform this year.
