Several Injured In Shooting At MLK Day Event In Florida: The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s office said that at least eight personshave shott at a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event in Fort Pierce, Florida.
According to the sheriff’s office, four people were hurt in the commotion that followed the gunfire, and one is in critical condition.
Following the “MLK Car Show and Family Fun Day” at Ilous Ellis Park, shots were fired due to a “disagreement of some sort,” according to Chief Deputy Brian Hester of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. According to Hester, eight persons were treated at the hospital for gunshot wounds. There were no quick updates on the seven people whose circumstances weren’t critical.

Hester said police are pursuing numerous leads and tips from the public, but it was unclear if anyone was in custody or if a suspect or suspects had been identified. Hester claimed that the evidence suggested there may have been other shooters.
According to Hester, all eight victims of gunshot wounds were adults, and the only person hurt in the aftermath of the incident was a child.
