The Miami Dolphins have announced their inactive for Week 2, and Myles Gaskin’s absence comes as something of a surprise.
Since Gaskin wasn’t listed on the injury report for this week, it’s possible that he sustained a new injury or became ill. Salvon Ahmed, a back for Miami who has been out with an injury all week, will play on Sunday.
Gaskin’s absence will be felt by the offense, which could benefit from a deeper group of runners. Although Gaskin is no longer the team’s top choice to lead the backfield, he is useful off the bench as a change of pace back who can also help out in the passing game.
As for linebacker Channing Tindall, his late entry to the list is due to an illness. No, he won’t be participating in today’s game. It’s hardly a huge loss for the Dolphins’ defense, but he’ll be back next week after missing some time with an injury.

Hunter Long will miss the rest of the week with an ankle injury, but Tanner Conner is expected to play today.
Cedrick Wilson, Jr. will play despite being listed as “questionable” all week, meaning Erik Ezukanma will have to wait another week to make his NFL debut. Since the Ravens’ secondary has been hurt, Wilson may have a nice game.
