Michigan Man Arrested After Holding Women Hostage: A Michigan man was detained after he threatened two other people with a stolen weapon while holding them hostage. According to Michigan State Police in Manistee County, a 50-year-old Wellston man was detained after keeping his buddy and another lady captive in his shed off of Lily Road in Norman Township. Authorities claim that on Saturday at around 7 a.m., state troopers were called to a shed where the man resides.

According to the police, a woman and her friend were paying the 50-year-old a visit. The suspect beat and threatened the women with a firearm during their visit, telling them they were not permitted to leave his house and accusing one of them of stealing his methamphetamine.

After asking her son for assistance, one of the women was able to flee the shed. The boy reportedly assisted his mother in escaping, while the other woman was reportedly still being held hostage after the suspect slammed the shed door shut.

According to Michigan State Police, the suspect carried the woman who was trapped in the shed “some distance” away from the shed on foot. Deputies ultimately came across them.
