At a memorial service for singer Lisa Marie Presley on Sunday morning, hundreds of mourners gathered at Graceland, the Memphis, Tennessee, house she inherited from her late father, rock icon Elvis Presley.
On January 12, Presley passed away at the age of 54. She had experienced cardiac arrest at her house earlier in the day and had been sent to a hospital in the Los Angeles region in a hurry.
At the memorial service on Graceland’s front lawn, Lisa Presley’s mother, Priscilla Presley, remarked, “Our heart is shattered, and we all adore you. For many individuals worldwide, Lisa Marie Presley served as an inspiration, a role model, and a superhero. Axl Rose, Billy Corgan, and Alanis Morissette all sang.

In Beverly Hills, California, two days before her passing, she made an appearance alongside her mother, Priscilla Presley, at the Golden Globe Awards, where Austin Butler got the best actor prize for playing her father in the movie Elvis. Butler’s acceptance speech was an homage to both women.
Presley launched her musical career with two albums that debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart in the 2000s—To Whom It May Concern and Now What. She had four marriages and divorces, including ones to actors Nicholas Cage and music singer Michael Jackson.
She was nine years old when Elvis Presley passed away at Graceland in 1977 from heart failure at age 42. She was the sole child of one of the greatest musicians in American history. Today, the mansion is a well-liked tourist destination. Elvis Presley and other family members are interred at Graceland’s Meditation Garden.
Before the memorial service, Lisa Marie Presley was laid to rest next to the grave of her son Benjamin Keough, who passed away in 2020 at 27 and was deemed to have committed suicide by the Los Angeles County coroner.

She had recently written an essay in which she had called her son’s death “destructive” of her. Following the memorial service, a procession of friends, family, and bystanders passed Lisa Marie Presley’s grave.
