Jinger Duggar Vuolo Speaks Out About Her Religious Beliefs

Jinger Duggar has come forward to denounce the “destructive” beliefs of her fervently religious parents and to compare her well-known family to a “cult.”

The 29-year-old star of 19 Kids and Counting revealed the enduring impact of her highly rigorous upbringing in a wide-ranging new interview, saying that the stringent, “cult-like” restrictions she was compelled to obey as a youngster left her “crippled with anxiety” and “terrified of the outside world.”

In an interview with People, Jinger revealed that the rigid religious teachings she was raised with were so extreme that she once felt tempted to completely renounce her faith and “leave Jesus.”

Jinger claimed that Gothard’s teachings were “based on fear and superstition” and left her wondering what God desired of her, making her feel as though she would be “harmed” if she deviated from the guidelines or made a mistake.

The 29-year-old continued by stating that the severe rules of the teachings, which forbid adherents from kissing, hugging, and hand-holding, among other things, left her “crippled with fear” and “terrified of the outside world.”

Jinger claimed that growing up with regulations requiring her to wear a dress for all formal occasions made her fearful of making a mistake. She confessed that Jinger believed she would be “killed” when she and her family went to play a sport. If you require any additional information, please visit our digitalnewsexpert.com.
