After a 15-year-old girl was fatally stabbed in Northumberland, a teenage boy was detained on suspicion of murder.
On Friday, soon after 5.10 p.m., Northumbria police were contacted in response to a report of an injured teenage boy and girl in the Priestpopple neighborhood of Hexham.
When the boy and girl, 16 and 15 years old, respectively, received severe injuries “consistent with having been caused by a bladed instrument,” emergency personnel responded.
They were both rushed to the hospital, where the kid later sustained significant but not life-threatening injuries while the girl died.
According to the police, professionally trained officers are helping both of their families during this tragic moment.

“After an investigation was started, a 16-year-old kid was detained first on suspicion of assault and then for murder. The cops are still holding him.
“At this terrible moment, our thoughts are with our loved ones, and we are doing everything we can to help them. We are committed to learning what happened and holding those responsible accountable.
According to Ch Supt Sam Rennison of the Northumbria police, it is “tragic news,” All parties involved are thought to be acquainted.
She said: “First and foremost, our hearts go out to her loved ones at this tragic time,” during a press conference on Saturday.
“A 16-year-old boy who was also hurt in the event is still being treated at the hospital and is in stable condition. We are constantly thinking of him and his family.
“An investigation was started right after, and while it’s still very early on, everyone involved knows one another.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the public for their ongoing assistance and support. especially those who attempted to help the injured boy and girl at the scene yesterday.
“It’s an awful tragedy; the town is in full shock. To lose one of our children who attends a nearby high school is horrendous,” said Derek Kennedy, the mayor of Hexham, to PA.
“Parents are concerned for their children’s health since they are all a part of this community, and the schools are worried that their students are experiencing the pain, suffering, and shock of such a terrible occurrence.
We have a very low crime rate in the Hexham neighborhood, and because everyone takes care of one another there, we were named the happiest location to live in Great Britain last year.
We always find it much more complex, and it’s knocked everyone for six when a tragedy like this occurs because we live in such a friendly and caring community.
