Drew Carey Fiance: After she was discovered struggling to breathe on the patio below the balcony of her Hollywood Hills house in the early hours of the morning the day after Valentine’s Day in 2020, Amie Harwick led a tumultuous and interesting life that generated a number of headlines. A few hours later, she would pass away, seemingly the victim of murder.
It was extremely devastating for Harwick’s ex-fiance, comedian Drew Carey, to learn the news. “I just broke down in tears. Carey admitted to “48 Hours” that she was unable to even get up “In his first in-depth television interview, reporter Erin Moriarty talked about his friendship with Harwick, her life, and her loss.
The “48 Hours” episode this week, “The Final Hours of Amie Harwick,” which features Carey’s interview, will be rebroadcast on Saturday, September 3, at 8/7c on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
Late in 2018, the pair decided to call off their engagement, and according to their pals, things ended amicably. Just two days prior to Harwick’s passing, Carey claims he received a text message from Harwick asking to speak after the two had lost contact.
When Carey thought back to that day almost two years ago, she recalled that Valentine’s Day was on a Friday. “She sent me a text on Thursday. Hey, I know we haven’t spoken in a while, but I’ve been thinking a lot about, you know, forgiveness, and I would love to meet up with you and discuss. [She] said. I responded, “Yeah, I’d love to do that.” I cherish you.”

“Carey said to Moriarty, “I say it to a lot of people, but I mean it. And I was ecstatic, thinking, “Oh, it’d be wonderful to see her again.”Carey, who has been hosting “The Price Is Right” on CBS since 2007, claims that when he received Harwick’s text, he was already committed to someone person. He thinks Harwick was attempting to create a new friendship. However, the ex-couple would never have another opportunity to communicate.
On February 15, 2020, at 3:26 a.m., Harwick passed away. The cause of death was eventually revealed by an autopsy to be blunt force trauma. She had bruising on her neck, apparent defensive wounds on her wrists and arms, and there were indications of a struggle inside her home, according to the medical examiner. Later that day, Gareth Pursehouse, Harwick’s ex-boyfriend, was accused of killing her. He entered a not-guilty plea.
Carey still has a hard time dealing with the terrible death of Amie Harwick. He first met Harwick, then 35, at a Hollywood party where she was working as a bartender when he was 58 years old, according to Carey. Harwick had earned her way through college by working as a bartender, and in 2017 she was a licenced therapist with a master’s and a Ph.D. She also occasionally worked as a side hustler.
Carey recalls again into her at another party a week later, and she allegedly informed him, “On my birthday, my lover betrayed me. Boy, you should get a better class of boyfriend, I said. And she responded, “Yeah, perhaps I should.” That was my initial sexy comment to her “stated Carey. And by the end of the evening, I had her phone number.

The two developed a romance quickly. “We went to Disneyland on our first date,” Carey recalled. Within a few weeks, he claims, he began bragging about his love to coworkers.
“Wow, I met this wonderful girl, I exclaimed. Amie is her name. She has a PhD and works as a therapist “said he. “I then declared, “If this keeps continuing this way, I’m getting married to her.” I simply came out and said it, and I’d only known her for a few weeks “said Carey. “I just had a sense that she was unique.”
Indeed, for a while, it appeared that Carey and Harwick would have a happy ending. Amie made a special appearance on “The Price Is Right” for Valentine’s Day in 2018, where Carey presented her to millions of TV viewers as his fiancée, two years prior to her passing. However, the partnership was not meant to endure.
Looking back on their split, Carey acknowledges the pressures of Hollywood were a factor. He claims Harwick believed her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse was getting agitated whenever news of her relationship with Carey was reported.
Carey said to Moriarty, “It would only happen if we were in the paper or something. He claimed that Harwick would frequently inform him that she had come across attempts to damage her reputation online after a news item had been published.

Carey remarked, “That would be a fight occasionally.” Harwick, he claims, would say “I wish you were not well-known. You realise? All of this is a result of our relationship.” Carey claims that the couple tried to make things work for a while in counselling before calling it quits. The breakup, according to Carey, was “very traumatic” and “like a death” to him. Carey received that surprise text from Harwick to schedule a conversation she would not live long enough to have 16 months after they had parted ways.
Because I wanted to marry her and we had such a terrible breakup, Carey said, “I feel like a widower in a lot of ways. And then, just as I was about to speak with her again, someone killed her.
Moriarty, who has communicated with several of Harwick’s pals for “48 Hours,” revealed to Carey how many of Harwick’s surviving acquaintances had informed her of Harwick’s affection for Carey. And she did love you, according to Moriarty. “Because I’ve heard that,” she replied.
That is the main consolation Carey derives from it, she said. Is that she treasured me and held me close to her heart. He appreciates getting to say “I love you” one final time. Glad I was able to deliver the message to her before she passed away. Follow Digitalnewsexpert.com for more updates.
