Konami Confirms: A new Silent Hill website has been released, and Konami has announced a Silent Hill Transmission for October 19 that will reveal the future of the survival horror series. Following a spate of leaks and rumours about a Silent Hill reboot, the developer has finally confirmed the project.

As the former art director of Team Silent (1999-2007), Masahito Ito’s retweet of the announcement has prompted speculation about the possible teams involved and may lend credence to Christophe Gans’s assertions that the announcement would be made on Wednesday. It’s possible that Silent Hill isn’t the only series Konami plans to resurrect in the near future.

However, it appears that Silent Hill has been designated as the first franchise to showcase what Konami has been working on for the past few years.

The Silent Hill series has a long and fruitful history with PlayStation, which raises the possibility of an exclusive deal for the series going forward. An exclusive arrangement for the PS5 has been mentioned in numerous leaks and rumours about Silent Hill throughout the past year.
