Ironheart: New Marvel Cinematic Universe member Riri Williams, aka the Ironheart, will be introduced to audiences for the first time in the next film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Dominique Thorne).
Marvel Studios published a promotional video showing off Riri, a teenage genius, and her Iron Suit, which appears to be on par with Tony Stark’s technology.
The MCU future of Ironheart will be established in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, preparing the stage for the upcoming Disney Plus spin-off Ironheart, which will serve as a direct continuation of Riri’s journey.
Lyric Ross (This Is Us) is planned to play Riri’s best friend Natalie, while Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) is set to play a mysterious character opposite Bella Thorne.
Manny Montana (Good Girls) and Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, Hamilton) have both been cast in as-yet-unknown roles.
On Saturday, September 10th, 2022, a first look at Ironheart was presented at Marvel’s D23 convention, giving some additional plot and cast details. Ramos apparently played a villain in the series in the exclusive video shown at D23.
His persona is shown wearing a robe that grants him mysterious magical abilities and appears to bribe Riri to steal items from the MIT facility.
Ironheart Release Date Speculation
The upcoming action series Marvel’s Ironheart will be the eleventh addition to the list of television series by MCU, and it will stream on Disney Plus with other major Marvel shows. Riri Williams, the protagonist of the show, isn’t actually a superhero but instead fashions an Iron Man–style suit of armour for herself. Like any good superhero, she plans to use her brilliant invention to help save the world.
In doing so, she gets the notice of the world-famous Iron Man. The show’s tagline promises that Riri Williams will construct a suit that is more advanced than Iron Man’s. That sheds light on the show’s characters and plot. Marvel’s Ironheart was announced way back in December 2020 but the filming started much later in Atlanta. Marvel’s Ironheart official release date hasn’t been confirmed but it will most likely release towards the end of the year 2023.

Ironheart Plot
Little is known about the plot of Ironheart, but since it is based on the Marvel Comics character, we can assume that it will follow Riri Williams, a young genius who creates a robust suit with great abilities similar to the armour worn by Iron Man. She has used Tony Stark’s genius design as inspiration and, in the comics, reverse-engineered one of his suits to build her own amazing masterpiece.
She was recognised as a prodigy and given the opportunity to study engineering at the world-famous MIT. She is expelled from her alma mater after being falsely convicted of theft, and her capture of two prisoners attempting to escape brings her to the attention of her hero, Tony Stark. Because of this interaction, he now approves of her superhero career choice. There’s a good chance that the show will adapt comic book storylines.

After making a strong first impression in If Beale Street Could Talk, Dominique Thorne has been cast as Riri Williams in the Marvel series Ironheart on Disney Plus.
Deadline reports that transgender and non-binary actor Zoe Terakes has been cast alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Shea Couleé in a pivotal role.
Like the LGBTQ+ Phastos in “Eternals” and “America Chavez” in “Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness,” these casts are a continuation of previous representations of those characters.
Star Wars: Solo’s Alden Ehrenreich (who played Han Solo) has joined the cast in an undisclosed capacity.
Ehrenreich, who played a younger version of Harrison Ford’s smuggler in 2018’s Solo, was asked about making his MCU debut by Digital Spy a few years ago.
Where To Watch Ironheart?
There has been no official word on when Ironheart will premiere, but we do know that it will be available to stream on Disney Plus. Many other Marvel shows have also been hosted on Disney Plus. After the year 2023 draws to a close, the show will be made available for viewing.
We expect the official release date to be announced shortly afterward, but for the time being, all we have is speculation. If Marvel’s Ironheart is a part of the MCU’s fifth phase, count us in. Angela Barnes and Sam Bailey are two of the show’s directors, and production on the new season kicked off earlier this year in Atlanta.
