There is no longer an Xbox Live Gold membership or Games With Gold. Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox Live Gold subscription service will be discontinued and that it will be succeeded by the Xbox Game Pass Core service, which will go live on September 14, 2023.
Along with the announcement of Game Pass Core, Microsoft also disclosed a slightly revised Game Pass tier system, which includes a variety of subscription choices suited to a wide range of users. What Has Changed In The Game Pass Core?
First and foremost, Xbox Live Gold is being phased out in favor of Game Pass Core. As a result, titles With Gold, which previously allowed users access to a new catalog of Xbox titles every month, is coming to an end. Game Pass Core will now allow users to play online and will contain over 25 choices Xbox Games (which will be expanded on a semi-regular basis). The normal catalog of hundreds of Game Pass games will be unavailable to Core members.

Keep in mind that as long as a player is a Core or Game Pass Ultimate member, they will be able to access any Xbox One games redeemed through Games With Gold. Regardless of the plan purchased, any Xbox 360 game redeemed through Games With Gold will remain in a player’s library.
Furthermore, Game Pass has been divided into different plans, giving you additional alternatives for selecting the ideal subscription. Many of the options, however, are limiting, which encourages consumers to subscribe to the most expensive option, Game Pass Ultimate. But what does each strategy entail?

This membership is for PC players who want to enjoy the Game Pass catalog of hundreds of titles as well as the EA Play catalog. This is ideal for folks who only play on PC and do not own a current-generation Xboz console.
Ultimate ($17 per month)
- Access to the Game Pass catalog of hundreds of titles on console, PC, and cloud
- New games on day one
- Deals and discounts
- Online console multiplayer
- EA Play
This is the most comprehensive subscription level, including access to the Game Pass catalog across console, PC, and cloud platforms, as well as online console multiplayer and EA Play. Get this if you frequently play online games and want access to the Game Pass lineup.
Changing Your Xbox Game Pass Subscription
Now that you have additional options, you may choose to switch to a plan that better meets your needs. You’ll need to go to the Xbox website to do so. Sign in to your Xbox account, then click on your profile image in the upper right corner. Then click on “My Microsoft account.”
Select “Manage” under Game Pass/Xbox Live Gold, which is located under “Subscriptions.” Once here, you may either stop auto-renew or cancel it completely, and you’ll be transported to a new screen with all of the available tiers. If you purchased a multi-month or annual membership, the adjustments will be applied when the subscription expires.
Players who have Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be automatically changed to Game Pass Core when the program begins in September.
