This week, the NFL unveiled its schedule for the next season, which will take place in 2022. Fans’ focus will now shift to when they may expect to see their teams play again.
Only the two teams who play in the Hall of Fame Game to begin the year will have more than three preseason games this year, continuing a trend that began last season.
The abbreviated preseason will not affect NFL fans’ enjoyment of the game. As a result, the Rams and Bills will play one more regular-season game on Thursday, Sept. 8, bringing the start of the regular season one week closer.

When Does 2022 Nfl Preseason Start and End?
- Start date: Thursday, Aug. 4
- End date: Sunday, Aug. 28
Aug. 4 marks the return of the NFL to television screens, when the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders meet off in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. NBC will broadcast that game.
While the rest of the league will play just three preseason games, Jacksonville and Las Vegas have four each.
The preseason will end on August 28, according to the NFL.

There will be many games on national television each week throughout the preseason, with NBC, ESPN, Fox, CBS, and Amazon Prime all airing national broadcasts of their respective games. The rest of the games will be broadcast on CBS and Fox, which are two of the most popular local networks.
