Mortal Kombat 12 is now officially known as Mortal Kombat 1, and it will be available to the general public on September 19. The trailer confirmed the playable characters for Mortal Kombat 1 and revealed what fans could expect from the game’s story. The canon ending for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath appears to be the one in which Liu Kang creates a new universe. It’s unclear when more official Mortal Kombat 1 information will be released, but there are some compelling options shortly.
On May 24, Sony will host a PlayStation showcase event, while Xbox will host its event on June 11. It would not be surprising to see the game appear at one or both of those major events, but fans should temper their expectations just in case.
